Musings No. 8 | Friday Favorites

new additions

I just bought these shoes yesterday (linked a similar pair because I couldn't find the white A New Day version, I only just started seeing them in stories in the last week or so. The ones I bought are pictured above!) and I already want to wear them all the time! I was against this style of shoes for the longest because they reminded me of leprechaun shoes or like something senior citizens would wear. But thennn I kind of started to love the style. You know like when you see a dog and it's ugly but still cute? That's how I feel about this style of shoe, they're ugly but still cute.I also got this monthly planner from Target and it's been so useful! I usually stick to weekly planners but I found I like the monthly set up better because I can see everything laid out in front of me and I know what's coming in future weeks. It's also helped me plan blog posts wayyyy easier than just decided "tomorrow I should do this post..." I actually have a plan through February, which I'm never that far ahead!

Oh! I also got a new bedspread, so random but the last few months I've just been using the duvet insert with no cover because I was too picky but I found this one at ikea and I love it. Shocker, it's stripes! But it's perfectly warm and cozy but not too heavy which is perfect for me because I just use that and a blanket with no top sheet (I just kick that off the bed while I sleep anyway so what's the point right?!)

Clearly this isn't going in any kind of order and it's just a random list of favorites, so let's move on to a new makeup fav, shall we? I love Milani blushes and recently bought the shade Bella Bellini and it's gorgeous! And stays on so long and doesn't fade, it's the perfect pink/rose gold glowy blush! The photo just doesn't do it justice!

watching

Since it's unfortunately still the off-season for another month, I've had no baseball to watch so my TV has been living on Food Network.  My newest obsession is Guy's Grocery Games, I don't know why cooking shows are so addicting! I've also watched Dunkirk three times now, I'm obsessed with it!

reading

Currently I'm reading Code Girls by Liza Mundy. It's about the women who became code breakers during WWII. I'm barely half way through but it's amazing! I have a stack of books I'm hoping to get through in the next month but since classes have started, textbooks might take over.

wearing

aerie leggings (on sale for $10!) are the absolute best! I usually get leggings from target or old navy but my biggest annoyance is there is just too much fabric. They're made for people with legs five inches longer than mine. But American Eagle's leggings come in long, regular, and short and the short is absolutely perfect for my short legs! They're perfect with these Old Navy sweaters (also on sale!) I've mentioned before, I like things a little looser and I would say these sweaters don't necessarily run small but they're definitely fitted. Normally I'm a medium but since they're fitted, I went up to an extra large so I could wear them with leggings, it's perfectly cozy! The sleeves are long since I sized up but they look fine rolled up!

rediscovered

After using the Laura Mercier powder for a while, I went back to my favorite IT Cosmetics powder and I have to say, I love this one so much more! While I have dry skin, I usually stay away from any product that says illumanzing because then it just makes me look oily but this powder has a glowy factor that just makes your skin look healthy. I will say the only downside to this powder is that I've only seen it on QVC. Even It Cosmetics' own website doesn't have the illumanizer version of this powder. But it's totally worth it and you get a brush with it!
