For the past two months I've made some significant progress in establishing a workout routine so I wanted to share some of the changes I've made.First off, this is going to sound like such a sponsored post but I promise it's not! No one's paying me to say this or share these things, I just love them!

THE WORKOUT

The game changer has been the Nike Training Club app. IT'S FREE!! I first downloaded it a few years ago when it was a bit different and then would go and find other workouts but always came back to this app. It's great for multiple reasons.

  • If you're looking to change up your workout, you can pick a workout based on a number of different categories. Within the categories you can filter it based on level of difficulty, duration, the equipment you have available to you for your workout, and the intensity. You can also filter out if you want it time-based or rep-based as well as if you want to focus on strength, endurance, or mobility

  • Muscle group

    • abs & core

    • arms & shoulders

    • glutes & legs

    • By Workout Type

      • Endurance

      • Mobility

      • Strength

      • Yoga

      • Browse by collection

        • in this category you can train for better runs, do workouts to train like different athletes and celebrities.

  • If you want something more long term, you can use their workout plans, which is what I've been doing and I've really loved it. I think this is especially useful due to the fact that you can really create a plan based on you and what you want to get out of it but it's also versatile. It's also motivating because you know you have workout schedule and you don't have to go search a workout. Sometimes if I know I want to workout but don't know what I want to do, I give up on it all together.

    • You can edit each plan based on the equipment you have available, how many workouts you want to do a week, if you want the plan to include running, and how difficult you want the plan to be.

    • They give you the schedule of recovery days and workouts, which you can move around through out the week. So if they have you working out on Monday but you're working all day and not up to it, you can move that workout to Tuesday or later in the week on a day that works better.

    • Sometimes if they have a workout scheduled that I don't want to do, either it's too long or not something I feel I want to work on that week, I just pick a different workout from the categories above.

I've been doing The Lean Fit plan the last few weeks, it's definitely a challenge but I'm loving it! Yesterday I did the Glute and Hip Strength 20 minute workout because I wanted a good upper leg workout and y'all this was my favorite one so far! My hips are definitely burning!

THE CLOTHES

I don't know about y'all but I love workout clothes! If you're gonna get sweaty and have your face get red and you're hair look a mess, you might as well do it in cute clothes right?I don't spend a lot on workout clothes, because yeah I wanna look cute but why do I need to sweat in $100 leggings?! No thanks!I love Old Navy leggings and sports bras. The leggings are the best! I'm sitting here writing this post in them! I will say, I prefer the high-rise leggings though because the mid-rise band doesn't stay in place very well, I'm constantly adjusting. Most of my workout shoes come from target. Such a shock right? I practically live at Target and Old Navy. I just bought these last week and absolutely love them. They're super light weight and cushy!

THE SNACKS

I'm terrible at drinking water, so I'm constantly looking for water bottles that will make me remember to drink water. The Starbucks bottle in the photo above and linked here, has seriously been a favorite! It untwists in the middle so it's easy to add plenty of ice, it keeps the water super cold for a number of hours and really easy to refill. It's not the exact one I have, because you can't shop starbucks online any more apparently, but amazon has a number of similar ones! Also, there's a new flavored water, that's not carbonated! Which is great because I hate carbonated drinks but have always wanted flavored waters because it'll make me drink more, it's called Hint! My favorite is the raspberry!I've also really been loving the mandarin oranges lately! Shout out to Cassidy for getting me hooked on them when  I visited Lubbock and then reminding me how good they are! They're so easy to just grab and go! I've also been loving the Goodness Knows bars and Luna bars! Hopefully some of this was a little helpful! I just wanted to share because I've been trying to establish a healthy routine for a few years now and finally feel like I have one!
